PHIL 280 - Modern Philosophy Credits: 3 An introduction to major thinkers and themes of seventeenth and eighteenth century Europe. Special emphasis will be placed on the respective claims of Rationalism and Empiricism, particularly as these bear on the nature of mind and body, the divine and the human, and the extent and limitations of knowledge. Primary documents will be read throughout.
Prerequisite(s): One course in Philosophy or REL 100 . General Education: May be used to fulfill the Humanities: Philosophy General Education requirement.
