REL 100 - Religion and Society Credits: 3 An introduction to religious studies themes and concepts by exploring big questions through Christianity in conversation with other traditions. The emphasis is on learning about religions as lived and living traditions in their societal and cultural contexts. This course includes experiential opportunities to engage in practices and observe traditions in action.
General Education: REL 100 is the required first course for the Religious Studies General Education requirements, except for transfer students and students who receive a waiver from the chair of the Religious Studies Department. REL 100 is a prerequisite for the second Religious Studies General Education requirement, which can be fulfilled by any 3-credit 200, 300, or 400-level REL course. Students whose academic programs require only one course in Religious Studies must take REL 100.
