NUR 560 - Intrprsnl Srvce Lrning Hlth Central Amer Credits: 3 This course focuses on the application of principles from international health, public health, and community-based participatory action to population-based health care services in rural Central America. Emphasis is placed on assessing, diagnosing, planning, and evaluating health and implementing strategies at all levels of prevention during this service learning experience. As a member of an interprofessional health care team, students will explore the roles of public health professionals in collaboration with local health care providers in the provision of services to disparate populations. Students must attend the Central America service learning trip.
