ENGL 533 - Intro to Linguistics for P12 Educators Credits: 3 An introduction to the theory and methodology of linguistics and its applications, including applications in p-12 contexts. The course includes descriptive and historical linguistics, basic notions of grammatical theory, and exploration of some of the relations of linguistics to other branches of knowledge. The presentation of general principles is supplemented by practical problems in linguistic analysis with attention to applications of linguistic awareness in p-12 contexts.
Prerequisite(s): Instructor approval.
