HIST 353 - The Holocaust Credits: 3 How was it that the country of Bach and Beethoven also produced Bergen-Belsen and Auschwitz-Birkenau? To what extent were Adolf Hitler and a few of his henchmen to blame for the deaths of millions? What role did the German population play in the horrors that unfolded across Europe? These and many more questions will be examined in the course. Students will examine the extremes of human cruelty and reflect on the meaning the history of the Holocaust holds for us in the present.
General Education: May be used to fulfill the Humanities: History component of General Education Requirements.
