NUR 341 - Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing


Credits: 5
Credit Configuration: 3+2, 5 Cr.

This course focuses on the application of psychiatric mental health nursing principles in the care of persons who have been impacted by psychiatric disturbances within interprofessional teams.  Using psychobiological and behavioral theories and therapeutic communication skills, emphasis is placed on the promotion of optimal mental health functioning for individuals, families, and communities.

Prerequisite(s): Cumulative GPA of 2.500 required and Nursing and Interprofessional Education GPA of 2.500 required. Prerequisites: C or better in BIO 210 , NUR 201 , NUR 203 , NUR 210 , and IPE 213 .
