Investigates information technology and its managerial applications in healthcare organizations. Management of the development process, the organizational flow of information, database management concepts, evaluation, selection, and strategic uses of information systems, as well as security, audit, and control of data are discussed. Healthcare-specific case studies will be used, covering topics such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and electronic medical records.
