THEO 262 - Hinduism

This survey course introduces students to the complexity and diversity of Hinduism. The course primarily discusses Hinduism’s principal themes, theologies, and philosophies, giving special attention to the historical development of the traditions and religious expressions and their relation to social and cultural life in India and the diaspora contexts. The course will engage in reading classical texts significant in the Hindu traditions as well as contemporary religious expressions through texts, rituals, performances, images, and architecture that display various beliefs and practices of the different traditions of Hinduism.

Prerequisite(s): THEO 100 .
General Education: May be used to fulfill the Cultural Diversity course component of the General Educaiton requirements.
