PHYS 250 - Mechanics Credits: 3 The classical mechanics of particles, systems of particles and rigid bodies, utilizing analytical techniques of vectors and differential and integral calculus. Among the topics included are Newton’s laws of motion in one and three dimensions, conservation laws, harmonic oscillation, central force motion, and an introduction to rigid body motion. Normally offered in the spring semester.
Prerequisite(s) or Corequisite(s): PHYS 142 and MATH 253 .
