BIO 172 - Diversity of Life, Diversity of Life Credits: 4 Credit Configuration: 3+3, 4 Cr.
A survey of the kingdoms of organisms, their relationships and origins, and their roles in the economy of nature. Emphasis is on the structures and their functions, life cycles, development, distribution, ecology, evolution, and the social and economic importance of representative members. Course includes a laboratory component. Field trips are required.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C‐ or higher in BIO 171 or BIO 151 , or equivalent, or consent of the chair of the department; MATH 110 , MATH 125 , or placement higher than MATH 110 in the math placement process. Students may register concurrently for MATH 110 (or MATH 125 ) and BIO 172. General Education: May be used in partial fulfillment of the General Education Requirements in Natural Science.
