ENGL 368 - Teaching of English to Speakers of Other, Languages: Theory and Methods I Credits: 3 A study of the theoretical and historical background of second language teaching as well as theories of second language acquisition, with special attention to different cultural backgrounds. Topics include practical application of theories through methods of teaching, speaking, listening, and grammar. The course will employ readings, activities, and class discussions among students from various linguistic and cultural traditions, and require them to observe an ESL class, as well as develop and teach an English language lesson.
General Education: May be used to fulfill the Cultural Diversity course component of the General Education requirements.
