ED 465 - Literacy in Socio-Cultural Contexts Credits: 3 This course focuses on genre study, diversity and culturally responsive practices in literacy education. It presents a process for engaging actively and deeply in literature and writing study. Students will learn frameworks for studying multicultural literature, using authentic texts. Practice in designing, teaching and reflecting on an array of assessment-informed reading and writing lessons for use with elementary students will also be facilitated.
Corequisite(s): ED 470 and SPED 440 .
