CE 281 - Geology for Civil and Envrnmtl Engineers Credits: 3 A study of the structure of the Earth, including minerals, igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. Also discussed are plate tectonics and its relationship to volcanoes, earthquakes, and mountain building. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to apply their knowledge of geology to civil engineering projects.
Prerequisite(s): sophomore standing in the Civil Engineering Department or consent of the chair of the department.
